I have been having a few issues lately...first off I have been having a random misfire last couple times I drove it that comes and goes...really no idea but not really what this is about.
Now I am hearing a knocking sound that relates to RPM that is in the top side of the engine. Weirdest part is that I do NOT hear it at idle and not at all at initial cold startup. I hear it after I rev up a little and then just let the throttle out. I only hear it on the decel in lower RPMs. Its possible i only hear it at the lower rpms as the car is so loud, hard to tell on that part.
The only thing I can make sense of is a lifter issue. Anyone have any suggestions? I tried to take a video today but the sound was a little quieter when I got back and the car was at OP temp and figured my camera wouldnt pick it up with the engine being so loud.

That's one of those things that has to be heard in person. It may be detonation or it could be a start to something fatal. I would first check your spark plug wires to make sure none are close to your headers and are burnt through. The slight miss, stumble may be part of the issue and that cylinder not getting correct spark. This may be part of your noise issue as well with the cylinder not firing as it should. If at all possible, open the hood when it is dark outside and look for any spark coming past the spark plug wire and arching to metal surface like your header. Also make sure you header bolts are still tight and didn't burn through the gaskets. It will be a ticking sound if they did.

Yeah I was thinking that it actually may be more related to a misfire of sorts, after the engine heats up a little or something. either way its very confusing to me. Ill take a look at night and see...all the plug wires are still away from the headers and are not burnt at all. I will also try and get a video of it to see if that helps. The misfire was tripping my SES light the last couple times and that has not tripped recently though.

After I hit OP temp I decided to roll the dice that it wasnt something damaging to the engine. And I took it for a drive that ended pretty spirited, sideways a good amount.
When I got back to my apt the noise was completely gone. Although I dont hold much hope as this happened last time it hit full OP temp, so I will have to see next time I start it up.
On a side note, I think my BCM is finally starting to shit out on me. About a week ago my key fob wouldnt work at all. and my alarm was acting up/going off. couldnt gey my fob to work at all. The next day it worked like nothing happened. Then today my passenger side window quit halfway up. And yes I know when motors fail as my driver side one already has. it didnt slow down, just plain stopped. no warning or anything and wouldnt go even after a few minutes.
