Started up the car leaving a party Saturday night, I went about 50 feet and the engine just stopped. Tried to start it back up and the motor locked and broke the starter! So I got a ride home and came back with the other car with some tools and a jack. Tried spinning the motor by hand and it would only spin about 10 degrees before totally locking up. Pushed the car back that night and Went to bed thinking I had a blown engine.
The next morning when I went out to the garage I noticed a heavy gas smell from the intake. I pulled the plugs and fuel started just pouring out! The FPR had totally ruptured and filled the intake with gas causing it to hydrolock!
I've never seen a pressure regulator rupture that bad all at once!

Bearings Should be ok. It never ran after it blew. I'm a little worried that it may have damaged a rod, but I think the starter took all the impact. Gonna change the oil, put the starter on and do a compression test while I got the plugs out before starting it. One big bummer is it broke a tooth off the flywheel. It's just one tooth though and I'm hoping the starter will be able to pass over it ok.

With the oil change man add a pint of Marvel Mystery Oil Or a can of Sea Foam.... No need for the seafoam, This engine has always stayed really clean. I did the heads and gaskets about a year ago and everything looked great and after pulling the valve covers this time the heads still looked like new.
